Jewel Suites

I understand that the cat. SF (Romance/Penthouse) suites have a Butler and concierge. Can anybody tell me if this cat. will have a reserved seating area in the shows and escorted early to the chocolate buffet? Some people have said that this is only for higher up suites. Thank you in advance.

No reserved seating for the shows, that is only for higher level suites. As far as the early entrance to the chocolate buffet, we've found that this seems to depend more on the individual Concierge than on the suite level. We've been on some ships where this was never offered to us and on others it was (same level of suite). I would just ask the Concierge after you're onboard if this is something they could offer you.

Enjoy!

I concur with above poster. We did make the request of our concierge regarding the chocolate buffet and it seemed to be no issue--not sure if he made an exception for us or if this is a regualr thing. But he was happy to take us in early.

Also, in my opinion the suite reserved seating was not that great--at least last year when we were traveling these seats were in the balcony to the side. We were able to get front and center seats for almost everything by just showing up a few minutes early. For Cirque we showed up probably 30 mintues early--but that's the only one where it seemed really imoprtant to get there real early. I noticed that people were rarely in hte reserved seats. But then again, it could just have been unique to the week we were sailing.

The Jewel suites are just beautiful and the service is incredible.

We were in the same category of suite on the Jade. The concierge told us she would gladly let us sit in the "reserved" section of the theatre. Quite frankly, though, as Yoyocruiser says above, those seats are less desirable. (Above and on the side.) We never sat in them.

We simply get to a show a bit early, get the seats we prefer, bring a drink . . .

As for the chocolate buffet on the Jewel, yech. One million varieties of mostly inedible things, and I LOVE chocolate. I can't even believe the stuff was made with real chocolate. I am not a baker, but I wonder if there's some sort of chocolate substitute or something that is used for mass produced goods, because whatever they were using, it wasn't very good. And I SO wanted to like what was out there.

But if you want to get in early, again, ask your concierge. :)
