LOVE IT...LOVE IT....LOVE IT....now if they could do something about the overcrowding in the C.L. it would be fabulous!!!!:)
Funny Joe the last three cruises I have been on, all on Oasis the CL wasn't crowded at all. Had many more people in the diamond lounge venue, which was actually Blaze the Disco;) Edited by koterry

I'm glad it worked out good for some but not for me. Very recently Diamond was attainable. I was booked on a B2B in January 2012 that would have gotten me to Diamond on the old system. I'm glad I canceled now. At least I can make it to platinum on Princess:rolleyes:

You cancelled a B2B because you wouldn't make Diamond????? Some things never cease to amaze me!

The extra amenities they added to D+ are really good for us right now. We are on a family cruise and DH and I can each order two bottles of wine to add to dinners with our family. Even if they charge us a corking fee, it's still a great deal for 4 bottles of wine. (And, the sons can pay the corkage fees, too! ;))

I also expected to just be grandfathered, but to have some extra bennies thrown in the deal is wonderful!

Count me in as a happy camper, too!!

You are not eligible for 2 each unfortunately.

As per Royal's website:

*One gift amenity per household. House brands may be substituted or changed upon available inventory.

Are you saying they are no longer limiting the D+ personalized amenity to one per household? That would be a significant change, and if that's true, I certainly missed it.

Bob

No it's still per household. This is the exact wording from Royal's site.

Let us know how you prefer to be welcomed aboard. Select your preferences for special gifts you are eligible for on your upcoming cruise by completing this online form. Based on the number of completed cruise points, you may be eligible for more than one gift/amenity during your stay, please select a preference for all that applies below.

*One gift amenity per household. House brands may be substituted or changed upon available inventory.

Depending on your cruise history you may be eligible to choose 1, 2 or 3 etc... amenities but are still limited per household when choosing your amenity/amenities.

*One gift amenity per household.

So if two households were in the same cabin, that would be two? Right?

I think that it is what happened to my friend and me when we cruised last month.

When she cruises with her husband, she/they get one.

Since we are both D+, when we cruised together, we got two: one for her and one for me.

Separate households, separate gifts.

:)

Thanks for the good news but we don't cruise on the Oasis (I'm sure you will be happy for that) for it is too crowded for our taste. ;)

Will be doing Allure three times this year and would love to "buy" you an adult beverage in the CL...;)

Interesting comment. Is it based on actual experience or on a presumption you have made based on the number of passengers that Oasis and Allure carry?

So is this another example of inconsistency? Here is what I see under benefits when I log in. Interestingly enough, there is no number for this footnote. It appears after #9. I added the bold red format. The gift Emerald/Diamond/Diamond Plus/Pinnacle members get is #5 so this note does not apply to that.

Bonus gift of your choice will be chosen from a pre-selected list for
each guest
. All orders need to be placed up to 5 days before a US based sailing and 7 days for an internationally based sailing. All Diamond Plus members can go into the secure Crown & Anchor section of the website and select your preferences and keep them up to date; or, Diamond Plus members and their travel agents can contact a Loyalty Specialist within 14 days of their departure to select an amenity and arrange timing for delivery to either their stateroom or dining room by calling.......

We are on the Radiance the 5th of Feb and I will be interested in what we actually get. I wonder if they will modify it for cruises less than 7 nights?

Too late for me to edit. But when I log in and check my preferences, it does state "one per household".

So to preserve marital harmony, I guess you need to coordinate your choices. Who knows what would happen if two members of the same household selected different items?

Bob, knowing the history of RCI's IT changes, I would not trust the website preferences for our gift selection. I'll still will be calling the D+ desk about 2 weeks before the cruise to make our selection.

Bob,

I have every intention of calling for the foreseeable future until I have first-hand or see enough posts convincing me they have it together.

Yes, you should call and confirm you amenity choice, at least for a while. I picked my Welcome gift and D+ Amenity on Saturday and then called C&A to request that the D+Amenity bottle of wine that I chose be delivered to the dining room, since that wasn't an option that I could pick online. A very nice rep said she'd take care of it, but then confirmed that none of my online choices had even hit my reservation! She took care of it though... we'll see what I get and where I get it in less than 2 weeks! :)

The conversion of cruises to points if very unfair. I called the crown and anchor society customer center and they said they will give you 7 cruise credits for every cruise point you have but this is not true. Example if you have 6 cruises you get 45 points, 7 cruises 52 points, but 8 cruises you get 69 points, 17 points more than 7. How did they come up with that? The new and improved program is new and unfair!!!

Go on the website look at the literature and the conversion chart. You'll figure it out, I hope:rolleyes:

Cruisinfever explained the system in her post.

Up to 7 cruise credits, you get 7 x (no. of cruises) plus a constant of 3

So, 7 x 7 = 49 + 3 = 52

8 cruise credits and higher, the constant is 13.

So 8 x 7 = 56 + 13 = 69.

9 x 7 = 63 + 13 = 76

and so on.

This should help you understand the new system New Points System Made Simple

You are getting 7 cruise points for every cruise credit when using their converting from credits to points.

Nobody ever said it was going to be a fair system!

I called the D+ Desk this afternoon and told them that in the footnotes and asked them about what Bob has highlighted in red. She was not aware of this and was quite surprised after she read it. She said she would pass on the information as to the wrong wording.

So I do believe it is still 1 per cabin. Or, 2 per cabin if you had over 49 cruise credits before the conversion which is now some number of points.

It just amazes me how a large company like RCI has this much miss communication between departments and that nobody takes the time to read and reread what is written and then understand what is written before it goes to print.

RCCL really does quite well with their literature for a large company, trust me. I worked for a fortune 100 company that was much worse and now the govt.;)
