Many years ago (17 or 18) a large cruise ship stopped in Palau. I was living there at the time and it was the strangest thing to see this huge ship anchor off shore. I don't remember what ship it was but I remember it had sails- it was the largest ship in the world with sails. I think they might have used the life boats to come in. We had the opportunity to tour the ship but I had 3 small kids at the time and it didn't seem like a good plan- now i regret not doing it. I believe that every once in a great while a ship will come by, but other than the ones mentioned above it is rare. They are indeed beautiful islands and very remote. But you would most likely have to fly in. But there is a lot to do once you are there, especially if you are a diver. And lots of amazing things to see from very small boats.
