Some of our ways to save or be frugal to enjoy more or longer cruises!!!

Recommended Posts

1.We ususally book out of season and book two weeks out watching for the prices to drop. Usually changes about 4 times a day.

2.We drive verses flying to save money.

3.Get a hotel night before and save money on free parking for time of cruise. (Many hotels have shuttles to and from port for free or limited price verses paying for parking at port.)

4.Since we are booking about 2 weeks out, we don't buy the insurance, we also stay at hotel usually night before to allow for travel emergencies or other last minute exceptions, save money with park and cruise.

5. Bring on 2 bottles of wine (carnival) in carry on for free so save on alcohol prices onboard. Also have an extra bottle in luggage that is confiscated but returned for last night to enjoy.

6.Carry on 12 pack of water and/or soda. I didn't know this first cruise, wish I did.

7.Get free cappicino/ expresso at dinner, just ask. Also can ask for second dinner entree at dinner!!! Love the prime rib!!!

8.Attend all free alcohol giveaways, (past guest parties, art auctions, free liquor tastings, ect.)

9.Get on board early, and stay on later and enjoy free food verses paying for food off ship. Also come back to ship to eat or wait til get back to ship eat meals at ports.

10. We bring our own camera and take alot of pictures, using the backdrops on board.

11.Buy the drink of the day, and get the cheaper refills, or order the specialty drinks that you get $5 dollar credit at the casino.

12.Attend the free giveaways at the spa first day, or wait until they have special price sales on latter days on crusies, such as the 3 treatments for $85 deal, my wife loves that one.

13. We don't book excursions onboard, we usually do research on here or online and find the same events for sooooo!!!! much cheaper, just taking our own cab or public transportation alone saves you alot!!!

14. We have an ipod touch so we use internet at the ports for free (there are many places that have free wifi, just ask around) and can keep in touch with outside world.

15.You can put a deposit down on next cruise online and get onboard credit for next cruise. (We don't usually book it, just put deposit down. If you do book it you can get even more onboard credit. We usually save more on booking last minute on cruises not fully booked yet.)

16.We have usually booked guaranteed interior staterooms which saves hundreds, if we were millionaires and didn't need to manage money to enjoy more cruises it would be different, but for the us the difference in the rooms where we sleep only is not orth extra money spent.

17.Register for carnival card and get free onboard credit, also we use it for everyhting and pay off each month and rack up points for free onboard credit or gifts!!!

18.We are looking to buy 100 shares of carnival and you get 100 onboard per cruise I believe, what a great deal for just moving your savings to a new place. Plus I believe they are currently paying a dividend.

PLEASE SHARE WHAT YOU DO TO SAVE OR GET MORE VALUE OUT OF YOUR CRUISE. THANKS ALOT.

No matter what you do or how much you spend make sure to have fun and enjoy yourself!!! Happy Cruising!!! See you aboard a ship in the future!!!:)

If I did not know better, I would think that I wrote it, excellent you are very wise.

Sometimes great deals on balconies pop up last minute for only 200 more per person than an inside room

#18 - The amount of the OBC depends on the length of the cruise. The OBC is available on all Carnival Corporation cruise lines. This would include Carnival. HAL, Princess, Cunard and Costa among others. The dividend is 25 cents per share per quarter. So if you buy 100 shares you get $100 per year.
