Claim Submission - HMO vs. Travel Insurance?

Was your travel insurance a "Primary" provider or a "Secondary"?

If primary, then just submit with all documentation directly to your travel insurance company. I'm sure if you go to their web site, there would be a link on how to submit a claim.

If travel insurance company is secondary, then you must submit to HMO first, when or if they deline it, then you can file with travel insurance with a copy of the HMO declination.

Or, if not sure, just submit to travel insurance company. If they are not primary, they'll let you know by declining and tell you that you must submit to HMO or provide documentation of HMO declination.

Hope that helps. I'm 95% sure my advise is correct. If I'm mistaken, there are some great people who monitor this section of the board who can provide a more correct answer.
