Sailing the Dream 3/15/14. I'm interested in knowing the earliest you have been able to leave the ship. Plan to do self assist and have a car service waiting. I have an early flight and trying to have all my ducks in a row.

Welcome Vlove09 there is a group of about 25 cruise critic members on the same 3-15 cruise. We are all on the roll call area of the board if you would be interested in joining us.

Just be careful of too early. The time the boat docks is only an estimate, as it can change due to weather, fog especially. I always plan mid to late afternoon flights home. It's like getting an extra day of vacation in florida

I echo previous advice about not having too early of a flight, just in case. But IF all goes well, you could be off the ship before 8:00am. My first time on the Dream, we did self assist, and were shuttled back to our car at the Radisson, and on the road by 8:00.

Wow.....finally finished all 53 pages!!! I've learned so much. Thanks to all who posted such great info! I found out that our balconies (on deck 6) over looked the lanai and a hot tub. I had NO idea....I was expecting ocean! Rebooked to Vista balcony at front of ship. Thank you!!!! I am so excited to go on this cruise (in 59 days). Love St Thomas and St Martin, and I will definitely be checking in on this thread. By the way, the Radisson at Port Canaveral has there own shuttle from the airport to their hotel for $80 (plus the shuttle to the port the next day for $6 pp). That $80 is for all 5 of us ($130 for 10 of us if we wait for family). Just thought I'd add some info to this thread. Sweet Dreams everyone!! ;)

  • 1 month later...

Sorry if this has already been asked but does anyone know how long the jogging track is on the dream? I want to stay active on vacation and it would be nice to know how many laps til 1 mile.

At one point I heard sushi was on the dream prior to the dry dock and now that it was "upgraded" they no longer have sushi. Can anyone confirm this? Thank you.

From the research I've done on this ship this is true. They replaced sushi place with the taste bar. There is sushi on one night as an appetizer in the mdr and on the buffet another day.

I'm quite disappointed they got rid of it!

While you are certainly correct that the new cruiser should keep an eye out for potential time changes when crossing time zones, I have not heard of the Dream changing times. And they haven't changed times in my 2 cruises on her, both of which involved port time being different than ship time. On the Eastern, sailing this time of year, we were one hour earlier than St Thomas & St Maarten. On the Western, cruising after we changed times in March, we were 1 hour later than Cozumel & Costa Maya, and 2 hours later than Roatan & Belize. We didn't change ship times to match port times.

In fact, we cruised the Eastern route during the daylight savings switch in November, and we did change ship time for the daylight savings switch. Had we not, we would have been equal to St Thomas & St Maarten. But because we switched, we had a 1-hour difference.

I have been on 7 cruises and have never changed times .

Just got off a cruise Saturday and we did change times when we went to Roatan and Belize - then back again. First time I can remember in 17 cruises. This was Princess - not Carnival.

Since there is no Sports Bar on the Dream.....where are the sporting events played on the ship?? Specifically I will be onboard for the NCAA Basketball Championship game. Where will this be televised??

I do not have an answer to your question. But we will be on the Dream in June. In the past you have written some awesome, picture heavy and in depth reviews. Are you planning a review for your upcoming Dream cruise? I hope!!

Yes I will be doing another photo review for our cruise on the Dream when we return. I've already had a few people ask if I will be doing one. I enjoy reading the reviews of other people so it's only fair that I return the favor when I cruise.

Happy to hear that you enjoy my reviews.....hopefully you will enjoy the next one just as much

At the bar in the casino -- Unfortunately, we did not frequent this area as it was very smoky. For the Championship game, I would think it may also be shown on the big screen on Lido.

Yeah we don't particularly enjoy the bar area in the casino area.....it is too smokey for us.

Thanks for the heads up to see if the game will be on the big screen. I will definitely have to check that out
