Prosecco on Silver Wind

We are currently on Silver Wind Cape Town - Cape Town. There seems to be NO Prosecco onboard. The pool bar is dry and in room availability has been non existent since we boarded 2 days ago. Does anyone have any idea what is going on? It seems that getting our in room fridge stocked is a long process involving the Butler having to go through procurement process. This is a new procedure for us.:confused:

Sorry to hear about that. Have you asked the Food & Beverage Manager, or if you cannot find him/her ask the Hotel Director.

Is there any Pimms onboard.

We await your response with interest.

Hmm - no shortage of any other wines while we were onboard last week, but we didn't ask for prosecco...

No problem stocking the fridge either - the butler asked us what we wanted when we embarked, and it appeared moments later. It was replenished as fast as we could drink it.

Prosecco dilemma solved. The container expected in Cape Town containing the allotment of Prosecco etc. did not arrive in time for departure at the beginning of the cruise, hence the shortage enroute. There have been a number of good sparking wines available that we have tried end enjoyed. There is no shortage of Pimms. All in all a great cruise.

Sounds all too familiar. We were two containers adrift on a Whisper cruise in the Far East a couple of years ago and even ran out of butter! Not good on a full ship and as they will NOT purchase anything locally their logistic organisation should be much better.

Many thanks for the update. Enjoy the remainder of your trip.
