Yes, and yes. We do it all the time. As final payment nears, people cancel and more desirable staterooms become available. There's no extra charge to change within the same category. If you booked thru Celebrity, just call their 800 number. If not, your travel agent will have to call Celebrity on your behalf.

If the price of your cruise happens to go down after final payment, you may be able to change to a higher category cabin that is now the same price as the price you paid.

We change from C3 => AQ => 1C and saved about $900...

 

and we're still a week before the final payment... ;)

Well, then, booking as soon as the bookings open is going to make for a fun year of watching for price drops and better cabins to open up! Talk about anticipation :-)

Guilty!!! and I also change itineraries sometimes!! I keep my TA busy. When I call her, she just answers by saying a long yesssss. Then we have a good laugh.

Make sure that if you make any cabin or other changes that you keep the same original booking number.
