excursion age limit

I'm interested in a bike trip excursion on the Summit, but the details on their website state that the minimum age is 12. My child is a year younger than that, but otherwise meets the height requirements. How thoroughly do they check ages on these excursions?

The excursion operators are independent contractors, and as such, may or may not be strict about their age requirements. Since Celebrity will clearly know your child's age, I would imagine that they would not let you book this (on board) and if you book it ahead of time, you take a chance that you might forfeit the price of the excursion if the operator refuses to let your child participate.
