Dining Venues - any hidden gems on Ventura ?

Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone has got any top tips of where to take breakfast and lunch ?.............and tea and midnight munches for that matter, not that we're intending to eat all day !! :o

I've been given a tip to try out the Beach House for dinner early on in our cruise so was just wondering if anyone has any favourite venues for other meals......I'm trying to avoid the mayhem that apparently happens in the buffet.........however we can hold our own if we have too :D

Cheers everyone.....4 more weeks of waiting :(

Well, for peace and calm for breakfast and lunch go to the Saffron or Bay Tree restaurant. Afternoon tea at 4pm in the Saffron is very good. For midnight munchies there is only the self service - open all night just in case you didnt get enough to eat during the day.

Thanks for the info Brian........is the breakfast in these restaurants just cooked breakfast or do they offer fruit, pastries, etc too ??

How formal is the dress code for breakfast and lunch, is it more than jeans and t shirt ?

Your pic is making me feel hungry, U2 !!

Breakfast menu in the restaurants covers everything, fruit, juices. yoghurts, cereals, pastries, smoothies, cooked breakfast ordered with any combination you want -eggs, bacon, sausage, tomato, beans, black pudding, fried bread, kippers, smoked haddock, omeletes, toast etc,

Dress code during the day is casual but no swimwear. Shorts can be worn.

As already said, not many find the Beach House early in the cruise, so get there at the beginning!

We like Ramblas for a change from restaurant dining in the evening...I like the smoked meat paella, OH prefers the fish.

If you want to go to the theme nights in the buffet, you'll find it quite civilised, with tables set for you, and wine waiters. The fish night is good, and the Indian night, because of the real Indian chefs.

We rarely eat in the main dining rooms, so have had a lot of fun tasting our way round the ship!

Yep we've definitely got The Beachhouse on our list, we like the sound of the Indian speciality night too.

Ramblas seems a good option for a light bite at lunchtime, do they serve all day ? We've booked on a couple of morning excursions so not sure if we'll be back until later in the afternoon ? Maybe just in time for tea :)

We'll watch out for the lunchtime specials at the East restaurant too, quite fancy that. Do you have to reserve a table at lunchtimes ?

We should have booked a longer cruise as there seem to be so many options we'll never be able to manage to get to them all in a week !! By the end of the week we won't want to eat anything anyway having stuffed too much at the beginning !!

Thanks to everyone for taking time to respond.

Have to agree wit the comments about the Beach House at night. You may have to wait for a table, but well worth it. Also try the lunch at East, ususally just one day per week, but superb food for a fiver!!!
