drwestlake Posted April 18, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2004 Our family is getting ready to book another cruise. I've heard many people mention UPGRADES. Getting upgraded to a better room, how does it work? Do you ask for it yourself, or does Carnival just give it to you when available? When does it happen, arrival on ship? Do you pay for it? Thanks, Denise
Nitemare Posted April 19, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 19, 2004 You should probably ask questions regarding specific cruiselines on the message boards dedicated to those cruiselines here at Cruise Critic. You're much more likely to get a quick and accurate answer over there. Good luck!
doone Posted April 19, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2004 Upgrades, who knows how they do them. One way is to book a guarantee cabin. That means, you book a specific cabin category, you are guaranteed to get that category or better. If its a popular cruise and is selling quickly, your chances of getting an upgrade will diminish. One word of advice, if you book a guarantee, be sure you will be happy with that cabin category, there may be a chance you could get that category, with no upgrade.
