kcbarker Posted April 24, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2011 We will be in London for the day. Can anyone recommend a nice restaurant on the South Bank of the Thames River by the Tower of London?
SteveH2508 Posted April 24, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2011 What type of cuisine? How much are you willing to spend? Are you talking MacDonalds or Michelin star?
Globaliser Posted April 25, 2011 #3 Share Posted April 25, 2011 Can anyone recommend a nice restaurant on the South Bank of the Thames River by the Tower of London? The Tower of London is on the north bank of the river. So any restaurant on the south bank will be on the other side. Do you require a riverside location? A river view? A view of the Tower? A view of Tower Bridge? But at least the location narrows it down to about 50 or so decent restaurants in that area. If you can be more specific about what you want, we might be able to come up with some suggestions. chessie4588 Posted April 25, 2011 #4 Share Posted April 25, 2011 I'd rec the Blue Print cafe--it's on the south side of Thames and right on the river with a great view of Tower Bridge and the Tower. Reasonably priced and good food. You can check it out on Tripadvisor
Paul S Posted April 29, 2011 #5 Share Posted April 29, 2011 Having eaten there on a number of occasions I would recommend Butlers Wharf Chop House restaurant and bar http://www.chophouse-restaurant.co.uk/ It's located on the south side of the river very close to Tower Bridge, and has some outside tables with a great view. Also in the same development alongside the river and well regarded are Pont de la Tour http://www.lepontdelatour.co.uk/ and Cantina del Ponte http://www.cantinadelponte.co.uk/ The Tate Modern art gallery, also on the south side, opposite St. Pauls Cathedral has a good restaurant with large windows facing St. Pauls and the river. You can use TopTable to find and book restaurants by price, cuisine, location, etc. It has reviews, and there are often special deals for booking via TopTable. http://www.toptable.com Hope this helps.
