LJJQ Posted May 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2011 My wife and myself will be sailing on the Celebrity Reflection October 12,2012 out of Amsterdam to Barcelona. We were wondering what normally the seas were like in mid October. I know the North Sea can be unpredictable but how is English Channel and Bay of Biscay this time of year? John Bull Posted May 12, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2011 Hi LJJQ, I'm not surprised you've had no response to date. Nobody's saying - cos nobody knows. BoB & the Channel are more unpredictable than the North Sea. October / November is the worst time of year for this trip, it's when we get most storms. :) but even at that time of the year, there are far more calm days than stormy ones. These are three very fickle ladies you're dealing with here, but generally the bottom end of the North Sea is much less likely to be stormy, the Channel is less benign the further west you get (and slower progress cos you're against the prevailing wind & currents), and BoB is the lady with the nasty reputation. But if those three ladies see my post, they'll doubtless contrive to prove me wrong. Women, eh  John Bull
