I thought that camels are used to hot places. Do they not live in the desert?

Will be sailing on Freedom at the end of May, was wondering if anyone has done the Camel riding excursion on Cozumel, and if so, what are your thoughts on it. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Island diver, we will be sailing Freedom with you. Have you signed up for the Meet and Mingle? Looking forward to meeting you.

Horses weren't around until the Spanish brought them either, would you go for a horseback ride?
