Time for lunch in Rome?

Hi, four of us are going on Magic this summer and we will arrive in Rome around 10:30 a.m. We want to take the Metro from Termini to the Trevi Fountain Stop, walk to the Trevi Fountain(by 11:30), then to the Pantheon (by 11:45) and see that. We have to be at the north side of the Vatican for a tour by 2:15 p.m. and we will want to squeeze in a lunch. We plan to take a taxi there and try to eat near the Vatican. Is it reasonable to try to get through lunch in 1 hour?

Yes, you can find small cafes where you control the pace of eating. We did this. Perfect little back alley cafe near Trevi.

You can certainly eat lunch in an hour.

 

IMO, there are better options in the Pantheon/Piazza Navona area than around the Vatican, but you'll find something either way.
