Well, I am going on a 7 night cruise to Alaska in three weeks. Let's take a look at the math here and see what you think....

My drinks are $10.50 each +15% added Gratuity = $12.08 Each

Wine at Dinner $10.00 a glass + 15% Gratuity = $11.50 Each

Premium Coffee Drinks $6.00 a mug + 15% Gratuity = $6.90 Each

So I have three drinks, two wines and 2 coffees each day = $73.04

Premium Package cost $378 + 15% for 7 Nights = $434.70 or $62.10 daily.

So with this conservative estimation that does not include the amount I will actually drink (alot more than 3 a day!! :D), nor the premium waters and such, the package saves me $10.94 a night...times 7 nights = $76.58 in savings for the cruise.

Also, I won't worry about my booze bill getting too big and I don't have to sign tickets every time I want a drink. Savings and convenient.

I hope you enjoyed my sales pitch for Celebrity's Booze Package.

Have a great cruise either way.

It depends on how much you drink. If you are a light drinker and have a beer a day, then the package is awful for you. However, if you are a heavy drinker, drinking at the pool during the day, the bar before dinner and having wine with your dinner, then it is good for you.

I bought the classic package for an Alaskan Cruise before the price went up a few weeks ago. The main reason I bought it was was for my own piece of mind. I know I would worry about my culmunative bill before ordering anything. Now if I feel like having an express or two in the morning or a few beers in the afternoon or wine with dinner or a couple of drinks in the evening I can just order them and not worry about how much I'm spending.
