Excursion questions for Eastern Carribean on Freedom

We're looking at our excursions for St. Thomas, and because it's our first time, we'd really love a tour of the island in addition to some beach/snorkling time. In looking at the packages provided, it seems as like we're choosing between Magen's Bay and Sapphire Beach. Magen's Bay seems like it has a better island tour, but Sapphire Beach itself appeals to me more (less touristy and less crowded).

 

Has anyone done either of these? Does the Sapphire Beach tour give you a good feel of the island?

We loved Megans Bay beautiful beach and wonderful water to swim in, nice sandy ocean floor.

Did Magen's a couple of years ago and it was a great sandy , glorious water beach.
