Kelmn07 Posted July 18, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2011 Hello, Back in June I posted about the airline changing my flight. After a few responses I realized I was incorrect and that they actually had changed the time, but that the flight # was the same. Now I've received an email that the actual flight number has changed-and I am curious what the purpose of that is? Just to clarify, my original flight was: Oct 6 Bos>CDG @ 6:55p Delta flight 48. Oct 7 CDG>VCE @ 9:50a AF flight 1426, and it was changed to Oct 6 Bos>CDG @ 7:25p Delta flight 48. Oct 7 CDG>VCE @ 9:50a AF flight 1426. And has now been changed to Oct 6 Bos>CDG @ 7:25p Delta flight 0577. Oct 7 CDG>VCE @ 9:50a AF flight 1426 Thanks!
6rugrats Posted July 18, 2011 #2 Share Posted July 18, 2011 I could be wrong, but I think it has to do with performance tracking of each flight by the Department of Transportation. If a flight number is not doing well, the airline changes it.
cindep Posted July 18, 2011 #3 Share Posted July 18, 2011 Also, check to see if the type of aircraft has been changed. That will usually create a flight number change as welll.
CHEZMARYLOU Posted July 21, 2011 #4 Share Posted July 21, 2011 Our flight number changed either because the type of aircraft changed (which it did) or because of the Continental-United merger. Mary Lou
Eng23 Posted July 21, 2011 #5 Share Posted July 21, 2011 Maybe the flight has been changed to a code share flight on a Delta partner airline, Air France most likely?
