Platinum perks?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I have been following these boards for a long time but never posted before. I'm sure the answer to my question is already on here.......somewhere.........somewhere! Anyway, how many cruises until a person reaches the coveted "platinum" level and what are the perks once you get there?

Thanks!

From Carnival's website:

Past Guest Recognition Program - Platinum Guest Level Benefits

Available exclusively to Platinum Guest cardholders who have sailed aboard the Fun Ships ten times or more, Carnival’s Past Guest Recognition Program benefits are designed to recognize and reward those longtime Carnival guests for their loyalty over the years. These privileges and benefits will be offered on the tenth cruise.

The Platinum Guests will receive a special welcome aboard letter from Carnival President and CEO, Gerry Cahill detailing the exclusive amenities and privileges available during their cruise:

Priority Embarkation: Upon arriving at the cruise terminal, the guest must ask for VIP Check-In, in ports where VIP Check-In is normally offered.

Personal Guest Service Staff: An exclusive, fully staffed Platinum Desk for personal service has been established at the Guest Services Desk. In addition, a dedicated phone line is available from 8:00am-8:00pm.

Personalized Stationery: Special stationery personalized with the guests’ name will be delivered to the stateroom prior to embarkation.

Canapés: Canapés will be delivered to the stateroom one evening via room service.

Note: For cruises 5 days or longer only

Petit Fours: Petit Fours will be delivered to the stateroom one evening via room service.

Carnival Logo Item: A special Carnival giveaway will be delivered to the stateroom.

Complimentary Entry Fee into Blackjack or Slot Tournament: Past Guest Recognition Program: The Platinum Guest (18 years or older) will contact the Casino Cashier Cage for his/her complimentary ticket.

Complimentary Wash and Fold Laundry Service: Complimentary unlimited wash and fold laundry service.

Guaranteed Dining Assignments: Guests may change their assigned dining time.

Note: This is for the Platinum guest and immediate family, maximum of two staterooms.

Guaranteed Steakhouse Reservations: Guests may get confirmed reservations for the Steakhouse.

Priority Spa Carnival Reservations and Complimentary Treatment Upgrade: Guests will be encouraged to book early to be assured of their requested appointment selection.

Priority Tender Boarding: In ports where the ship will tender, guests not on a shore excursion will proceed to the Platinum Desk and be escorted to the appropriate gangway for the next available tender.

Priority Debarkation: Guests will receive a debarkation letter offering a choice of how they would prefer to disembark the ship. They will be given the choice of Self Assist (where offered) or regular debarkation; for regular debarkation, the guest will receive Carnival Platinum Luggage tags.

I am not platinum myself, but this is what I follow. I hope this helps!

Clarifying- On your tenth cruise you are platinum,

first- blue card

second-ninth - gold card

tenth-twentyfourth - platinum card

twentyfifth + - milestone black card (or is it white?)

Best perks IMHO are the casino tournament entry and the laundry. Can't have too many coolers though.

Love the free laundry.

I went Platinum my last cruise but it was a 3 day so I didn't use the laundry perk. Is the laundry perk just a "one time" during your cruise or can you send laundry as often as needed?

As often as you want to. We typically will send it out every other day. Tell the steward in the morning we will have laundry and get it back around dinner time.

Went from two large suitcase to one as a result.icon7.gif

Don't forget the enameled ship pins at the Past Guest Party. They used to give them to all the past guests, but now only the Platinum guests receive them.

So Platinum guests get the pin? YES! DH wanted a pin on our Triumph cruise but no such luck. Guess we will get one next time.

And so looking forward to the laundry since our Platinum cruise is a 14-day Panama Canal cruise.

thats a good idea. I am booked on the liberty for oct 29th 2011 in the captins suite. I should send it out every other day in the morning. I was wondering does the free laundry perk come with booking that suite?

No. Only perk with a suite is priority embarkation and debarkation.

Do you trust the ship laundry with all of your clothes?

I have heard that they only use hot water for everything.

Have there been any shrinkage problems or colors running?

We have not had problems with colors running or shrinkage but DW does not give them her delicate stuff.

We have never had an issue with our clothing coming back shrunken/ruined from the ship's laundry service. But then again, the clothing we bring for the Cruise Elegant nights goes from our suitcases right to the dry cleaners around the corner from our home.

Technically, it's just priority embarkation according to any written Carnival policy I have seen - though some ships/ports are regularly giving the debarkation perk upon suite guests.

Lately the pins have been generic until they run out and then are supposed to be "improved". If you get one with the actual ship name on it, hold on to it!

Are they still giving out the frames for the logo item, or have they moved on from there?

Milestone is a white card when you get to your 25th cruise. You also get 25% off a cruise.

Dave

Technically it is a 25% OBC of the milestoner's portion of the cabin before taxes and junk.
