Immebsmom Posted July 25, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 25, 2011 We are going to be sailing with our older teen daughters (19 & 20) and while we are going to put a credit card on the account in our name for excursions and tips, we were thinking about buying them a dollar amount of stateroom credits for them to use while on the cruise. That way they could get drinks or shakes, etc...and we would not have to worry about the credit card getting racked up with charges. Anyone ever tried this? Did it work out well or were there problems? I am just worried that the excursions will use up all of their stateroom credit rather than going to the credit card which would defeat the whole purpose. Appreciate all the help! Laura
paul929207 Posted July 25, 2011 #2 Share Posted July 25, 2011 For excursions, you can buy them under your cruise card and have the charges all go to you. You could buy two different tours at the same time and give one set of tickets to the kids and keep the others for you.
cruzinwithprincess Posted July 25, 2011 #3 Share Posted July 25, 2011 I have taken my teens on a couple of cruises with Princess. I purchase the excursions for all of us on my card and buy each of them an ultimate drink card. So far, no complaints from the teenagers. It works well for all of us. Immebsmom Posted July 26, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted July 26, 2011 Thanks to all of you for your help!!!! Didn't even think that I could buy the excursions for all of us, and leave her account alone! We are looking at the ultimate drink card for them...just trying to figure out if they would actually drink that much as they tend to like water more, so we are bringing cases of water. MUCHO THANKS!!
caribill Posted July 26, 2011 #5 Share Posted July 26, 2011 Remember that the daily hotel service charge (autotip) will go on their accounts each day.
