Cove Balcony

Recommended Posts

This might sound like a stupid question but I was wondering about how

high above the water are the Cove balconys? I was going to book one

and then saw that they have big doors they shut in rough waters.

Now I'm not sure in case of rough seas.

I'd guess about 30 feet or a bit less from the water line. You're on the second passenger deck above a single lower deck...

The Coves are the second level of openings in the hull in the picture above.

Here's a picture of the door you referenced...

Ours was never closed even in 30 foot seas and winds gusting 96 knots...

I don't think it's a problem...

Host Mach didnt you say though that you could feel the water spray when you were in rough water.

30 foot seas and extraordinarily strong winds... you could feel the spray on the open decks... ALL of the open decks...

It wasn't even rough and I got the spray but you had to hang your head over the rail and look forward

We had a cove balcony on the Dream in March. WE LOVED IT!!! If we were on the Dream again I would not go if we could not be in a cove. We also loved the privacy it provided. You will not be disappointed.

DITTO.... just off the Dream... LOVED our Cove balcony. I wish all ships would have them. Amazing views, loved the sound of the ocean water at night as we slept with the door slightly opened. Never had rough seas so we had use of the balconies every day..... Great choice..

We sailed on the inaugural of the Dream from New York and determined then and there that we would NOT book any other class of cabin on a Dream Class ship. We've got a Cove booked for the Magic for John Heald's Blogger's Cruise from Galveston next March... smack dab midships!!!

:D

Still waiting to experience it, but my PVP ballparked it at about four stories. From the pictures posted, that looks to be about right.
