Wow, finally pulling to the end of the 1st day!!!

Here is what we did for the remaining of the evening. Went to the cabin, got ready for Main Dining Room. It was a casual night and we had Your Time Dining, and I'm glad we took that option. We never waited too long to be seated and all the anytime dining folks were placed in Black Pearl Dining Room on Deck 4 forward, right next to Circle C, if you care to know. We had the same 2-3 waiters through out the cruise, and they all were very pleasant and accommodating.

That being said here are some photos in the MDR. It was a table for 4.

The first night, I only took pictures of my plates. Sorry guys!!! I will post more food pictures for coming nights, promise...

Beef and Barley soup- Excellent!

083.jpg

The Fish meal - Excellent! When they first brought my food, I just jumped all over it, and totally forgot to snap a photo. Once realized, I quickly took a photo of my partial fish.

084.jpg

DH ordered the same Fish meal as mine and Fruit plate. DD ordered Chicken Tenders and DS ordered Cheese Pizza. We chose not have any desserts for the first night.

After dinner, we decided to split, but not before I signed the kids up for Circle C kids club at Spectacular Theatre. After sign up, DD and DS decided to stay at the theatre to watch this Jeopardy like show and Celebrity Trivia. DH and I decided to go to Casino to try our first night luck!!!

DH and I are avid gamblers, however, we do limit our play to $200/night. We were also limited on timing as we promised the kids to go to Bingo at 9:45. Side note, two cruises ago on Spirit, DS won $1200 on Bingo (Yes, I sure was next to him;)) Hence that day, they want to participate in every game!!!

Ok, back to Casino, DH and I usually play Three Card Poker. And lady luck was on my side tonight. I hit 2 straight flashes. DH was just hanging there...no big winnings for him...

It was around 9:35pm and kids were already calling us!!! So we got up from our poker table and headed to Spectacular Theatre for a $500 Bingo game! Folks, we sure didn't win it this time!!! But decided to stay for a Welcome Aboard Show with our cruise director Todd Wittmer. Let me tell you people, this guys was funnier than some of the comedians on-board!!!

After the show, we decided to check out the Lido deck before call it quits for the night. They were playing one of my favorite movies at the Seaside Theatre- Just Go With It.

Then, we committed a sin right on the first night of the cruise. We ate some pizza and burgers right around the midnight!!! Well, what can I say, we are on a cruise and sins like that are Pardoned, right???

Hesitantly, the night was coming to the end, so we headed back to the room to have this waiting for us. By the way, our Steward Atak not only emptied the fridge, but even stocked our drinks inside!!! Thank you Friend!!!

Hello again to my friends on CC!!!

So I’m back from my cruise for a day now, and already have post cruise blues:(. Kids are back to school and I will be getting ready to go to work soon, but before work, there was one more important thing to do! That is starting my review ASAP, as I sure hope to relive my journey just one more time, and you are welcome to come on board with me!!!

Just a reminder that I had another thread going on before my cruise, about any questions you might have about Splendor, and it was my pleasure to go around taking pictures and gathering information to answer your questions, and if I didn't give you a satisfactory answer, I apologize!!!:o

Alright let's start with this review already. Traveling first time on Splendor are myself(38), DH(42), DD(13) and DS(12). It’s DH’s and my 7th cruise and kids’ 6th cruise. So, I will admit that after being avid travelers for many years, my kids prefer cruises over land vacations, which is absolutely fine with me.

So, our cruise was set to begin on Sunday at 4:30, and DH and I decided to get to the ship as early as possible. I have to admit that we are always the last people to get on board, no matter how much we try! That being said, wait until you hear the actual time with got on this ship.

But before that, we had to drop off our other kids at my parents and my in-laws.

Here is Prince posing for a picture before getting ready to go to my moms!

005.jpg

But Prince never goes to his grandparents house dirty, so we had to wait until he took a quick bath!!! And, we waited a little bit more so he could get dried!

004-1.jpg

Lucky also did some posing, but as soon as found out about his own trip to grandparents house, he pretended to be asleep…

002-1.jpg

003.jpg

After dropping them off, we went to a last minute shopping for sodas, wine, sunblocks, repellents, meds, etc…

More to come...

They look so depressed!

I know, I know, LOL, I usually view the emergency drill procedures posted behind the cabin door, and I ask to make sure which tender we belong to...in case of emergency:eek:.

I thought you were kidding, how did you avoid the cabin Stewart's?

Second day of the cruise - 1st Sea Day!!!

Before I start, I would like to thank you for all the nice comments!!! I appreciate your patience, as it is a lot of work. Again, I apologize if taking too long, yesterday it took me all day to finish the first day of the cruise!

There was a question about the Muster Drill. We usually tell the Steward same thing I told you, that is I do study the drill procedures on my own...Usually, they don't give us a hard time...

Folks don't get me wrong, I have gone to several MDs, I honestly didn't pay attention at anything they did or said, because of my claustrophobia, that being said, the only thing I cared was, when was this thing gonna be over...But honestly, please go to Muster drills!!! In no way, I'm encouraging anyone to skip it!!!

OK, back to day 2!!!

I love Sea Days, you don't have to rush for anything, just relax, relax, relax!!!

But first things come first in my life, that is my homemade morning coffee!!!

Here is another controversial topic, LOL!!! But it's ok, some of you guys can lecture me all you want, but I still will have my homemade morning coffee:D.

091.jpg

I need to have this strong Mediterranean coffee flowing in my veins as soon as I open my eyes, otherwise I will be like a dead turkey all day long! And folks, let me tell you something, there is nothing better than having coffee on your balcony and staring at BLUE NO WHERE!!!

092.jpg

089.jpg

After enjoying coffee, we went to Lido buffet to grab something to eat. There was also going to be a scavenger hunt, and kids wanted to participate!!!

I honestly like to participate as well. So off I went to help them get as many items as possible. There were some challenging items, like Mexican peso, receipt between $15-22, pink bathing suit, carnival trophy, baby pic, etc... and there were some easy ones like, shoes, 1st day Fun Times...I like to thank all those people who helped us gather as much as possible, like the cashier in the store(hint, hint- if you need help with pesos and receipts)

There were a lot of people participating and everyone wanted to WIN of course! So it was time to announce the winners! Then I heard them call DD's name and I was soooo happy, that she won! But she wasn't the only one, there was another beautiful lady who won.

Here they are proud to have their trophies!!!

007.jpg

After the scavenger hunt, there was a game of Bingo!!! So DD and DS rushed me to Spectacular Theatre to buy the bingo tickets.

010.jpg

And again we didn't win. So, then we decided to go to Lido deck.

More to come...

After dinner, DH and I decided to go to the 1st Adult Comedy show in Morocco lounge, and the kids wanted to go to Circle C, but before I let them go, we took another Family picture on the stairs of beautiful Splendor Atrium...:)

036.jpg

Here is El Morocco lounge and our comedian for the night. He was ok in my opinion...

039.jpg

After comedy, DH and I decided to go and try our luck in the casino!!! No luck today, folks!!! So, after losing $200, we both called it quits for the night!!!

Once in the room, our friend the Elephant was waiting for us!!!

040.jpg

Before going to sleep, I went to the balcony and saw a single shining Star accompanied by our gorgeous Moon, lighting our ship!!!

042.jpg

The star is in the lower left side...

That's the end for Day 2, my friends, but soon to come our 3rd day in CABO!!!
