Asking for upgrades - is there a 'protocol' ?

I have booked and paid in full an interior room on the Rhapsody for November 27th. I've recently noticed that the price for an 'outside' ocean view guarantee is about 20 dollars less than what I have paid for the interior room.

 

Is it acceptable to ask to be upgraded to this ocean view guarantee? Is it even worth it? I'd love a bit of feedback.

Call and ask. You "should" be able to get the upgrade for what you already paid. Don't hesitate. You have nothing to lose.

Not really an upgrade, but paying for what the going rate is. Ask I think your request is fair.

I don't suppose anyone could shed any light as to whether it would be worth it? We'd likely go from Aft Deck 8 to deck 2 or 3.

It depends whether you would like some natural light in your cabin. Rhapsody is not a huge ship - being on Deck 2 or 3 is no problem.

I definitely wouldn't mind. I know my partner would definitely appreciate it too. Will certainly look into it some more, thanks for the reply :)

Yes, I would go for the outside cabin. I have sailed in pretty much all the cabin types and an outside beats an inside every time. Good luck and have an awesome cruise. Oh, and welcome to Cruise Critic.
