How far in advance can I book a cruise? It seems online it only goes about 18 months out.

Pretty much all cruiselines now offer thru mid april 2013 as the furtherest out you can book, unless its a new ship or some reason they have for extending some particular ship, like Iv seen RCL do that when Oasis came out.

 

but expect to book thru middish april 2013 on all the main cruiselines.

 

Next year they will add another year's worth. .. around next spring cruises start to come out.

Yeah, that is pretty much right. We like to sail in May, and it is frustrating to have to wait to book. There are times that itineries are slower coming.

As has been mentioned, 18 months or so is pretty typical but things have become a bit more complicated recently with plans for longer dry docks being worked in along with some itinerary changes afoot.

Have patience... it'll be worth it!

18 months seems about right- but booking that far in advance you take the chance that your ship will be rerouted.

 

We booked Valor at 18 months for February 2012 and they changed the ports and made it 6 days instead of 7. We had three days to decide what changes to be made to keep our price protection. We changed to the Legend for a different week

Ok so 18 mo out to book, how much do you need to book the cruise? Cost of the deposit??

for a 7 day cruise-- 250.00per person.

 

I book one person--single supplement and make monthly payments. As soon as I get that payment to 500.00 I add the second person.

Its $200 pp for a five day like my upcoming Triumph 11/7 cruise. 4 days is $150 pp. alaska and europe may be more than the standard deposits.
