We are saling out on the Sensation in December and I am now a little nervous for my sister. It will be her first cruise and she is already a very picky person..... Hopefully everything will be much better than the negatives in your review. Yet it is very informative..... Thanks for the information.

I feel terrible now that a lot of the information is coming across negative! Don't get me wrong, any vacation is what you make of it. Overall, I was satisfied with the vacation I had, but when I am thinking about the details and comparing them to previous experiences, it sounds worse than it might be!

Also, even though our steward was meh, our friends who were also in a JS across the hall had a great one. We joked that we wanted to trade!

we were on the sensation 9/18 and we loved the ship...........so sorry you did not have good service, we found the service to be great and our room steward was outstanding.....

yes the casino is open while in nassau........it opens at 7pm

we spent the afternoon at the atlantis casino........not much to do in freeport...... we went to the casino and had some conch fritters and chowder

cheryl

I wish I would have eaten in the dining room at least once so I had something else to compare it to, but ya overall for some reason there was something lacking this time around. Maybe because it was rainy a lot of people were using room service to cause back ups and mistakes?

At any rate, I was not working, cleaning or cooking so I don't care how long it took, I was happy! :D

Well here we are, the trip is almost over!

We did spend the rest of our night at Senor Frogs- since it was pouring rain for quite some time we actually stayed to wait out the rain.

The Fun Times Top Ten for Nassau day is:

1- Rockin' Under the Stars Deck Party (Not sure if they had it since it was raining)

2-Badda-Bingo 10:30 am and 9:30 pm

3- Explore the Shore- Book your excursions!

4- Abracadabra- Magician 10:45 pm

5- Blackjack Tournament 9-11pm

6- Spiffy Snapshots- formal pics (Tonight is elegant night)

7- The Gender Showdown 8:30pm (I had fun at this on our last cruise, wish I would have made it!)

8- Jewelry Seminar 10am

9- Gold Day- You know you need those inches!!

10- Mini Martini Tasting - 4pm charge applies

Saturday came waaaay too fast! Unfortunately every cruise I take there ends up being one day that I have a migraine. I hate it! I wake up Saturday morning feeling good- checking for a sunrise (I did not manage to see ONE sunset or sunrise from my cabin...). I decided to go back to sleep for a bit and wake up with a killer migraine.

My migraine pills cost me $22 a piece. Every time I have one, I stop and think...is this migraine worth $22?? This one was. Unfortunately I waited too long and was so sick, the $22 didn't make it to where it would help.

I had to send my husband to the gift shop to buy some tylenol as I forgot mine. $12 folks. $12 for 24 pills.

Anyways, I take 1500mg and turn off the tv, ac, lights and shut the balcony. I wake up at noon feeling a whoooole lot better. So much so that I decide to get room service. I want to make sure what I eat stays where it should and the lido is not the place for that experiment!

I ordered a BLT, a chicken fajita, veggie sticks, a salad AND cheesecake. I am starving! This time around, everything comes just as planned, and pretty quickly too! I feel 100% better.

Sadly, it rained the entire day. All lido activities seemed to be either cancelled or moved elsewhere. We decide to watch Pirates of the Carribean, Soul Surfer AND Toy Story 3. Yes, this is my vacation and I loved every second!

We also decided to check out the comedians tonight, as this is one of our favorite things to enjoy on a cruise. We usually head in well before the first show and stay through all of them.

We love the group seating off to the side of the room!

On this cruise we have Ronnie Bullard and Will Marfori.

Ronnie started at 9:45 and it was over by 10:15. I thought I missed something! The next one started at 10:45, and ended at 11:15. And the last one started at 11:45, ending at 12:15. I thought they were longer on previous sailings. A half hour just isn't enough!

Ronnie was good- I laughed quite a bit and he was kind of vulgar. (Not that I mind, I'm just noting. Most of the adult shows are, and I have seen much more vulgarity!)

Will was ok- he has cystic fibrosis and really played that up a lot. He did alot of making fun of himself. Unfortunately there was some drunk ass towards the front who could not shut up. So most of his segment was talking crap back to the drunk guy.

Ronnie wrapped up the last show and was pretty solid again.

By this time we are quickly realizing tomorrow is going to stink. We haven't packed a thing, we are up way past our bedtime haha, and vacation is ova.

Maybe one of the reasons I did not finish this earlier is because the end of any vacation stinks!

Some notes- this day was the last sea day, and they had the much anticipated  watch sale, as well as the normal discounts in the gift shop and our personal favorites- the glass figurines.

The Top Ten:

1. Love and Marriage Show (I watched it from the room later in the day and it was as entertaining as it usually is. I just wish they would refresh the questions!)

2. 5000 Powerball Bingo

3. Towel Folding Fun (Wish I went, I always have fun!)

4. Slot Tournament

5. TV Theme Trivia

6. Sports Lover Trivia

7. Guess That Song

8. Big Rocks Great Price (Diamond Sale)

9. Mind Game Mania

10. Champagne Auction (art auction)

Looking back at the top 10, it looks like they expected it to rain all day!

After the comedy shows we decided to check out the club- we were still wide awake and willing to make the most of our last few minutes of vacation. For the first time ever, the club was packed, music was great, and a lot of people were having a great time. We only stayed for one drink and hit the pizzeria on the way back to the room. I don't care for the pizza at all but my husband loves the calzones. I ordered room service and it came promptly, and they had everything I ordered! Yay!

So it is one am and we have not packed a thing. I decide eh...we have a couple hours in the morning! I make sure to put my breakfast order thingy on the doorknob and go to sleep.

Six am comes way too fast. We are already docked. A surge of oh no! hits me as I frantically start packing. Yes, you would think...these people are on a 3 day what the heck do they need to pack? And yes, I was thrifty this time, I only brought one full sized suitcase and one very large weekend bag. And it was spread out across the room like it was my job. Of course our room steward gave my husband a jump start by taking all of his stuff out of the cabinets and putting piles of sheets and towels in there instead. Thanks

At 7 am they are already making debarkation announcements. What the?? I have never gone through a debarkation that started so early! Now I am really scared! We had original plans to meet our friends with our luggage at 8am on the Lido. We would have breakfast and patiently wait our call. I became a ninja and not only showered and primped but had everything packed and ready to go by 7:30 just as my breakfast was being delivered. At the same time they are calling our deck for debarkation.

Now I know....I could have dragged it out for a while. And I know I passed a lot of Snoozin signs in our hallway but I feel like when its time, its time. They want us to get the heck out so they can start their process.

We ended up being off of the ship in a matter of minutes. The port went smoothly except one back up when a family attempted to take multiple bags each onto the escalator. This is a no no. (They also have signs saying you cannot wear Crocs on the escalators!)

So we are dumped out into the streets...abandoned. No drink of the day. No drink umbrellas. No neon lighting. It is over.

We pay our $15 a day for parking and are on our way.

What is the best way to get over post vacation depression? Booking your next cruise!!

Two things I forgot-

When my husband bought the $12 Tylenol..they charged him twice. I happened to look at the receipt sitting on our counter. He said she even said $12 (it wasn't labeled for fear of heart attack, in which he might have gotten aspirin for free). So we had to go back to the gift shop, and they did refund the money. (Thank goodness!)

Our room steward- the day I was in bed with a migraine I had the snoozin sign out. She still came to the room and knocked. We say hello? She asks about service. We say no. We check the door...sign is still there. Sign is indeed on the snoozin side. I lay back down. About an hour later, a quick knock and the door opens. She says service? As she is looking at me, laying under the covers trying not to puke. Really?? I have never had a room steward barge into the room not once, but twice.

I think that is all. I have all of the fun times and all of that good stuff if anyone has questions. Otherwise, thanks for reading, I always enjoy reading reviews, and writing one gives me the chance to pretend I am still there!

We did this cruise as our very 1st CCL cruise in March 2010. Thank you for bringing back the memories :). We loved the ship and din't find it dirty and had no problems with any staff...sorry you guys did...I know it can happen. We drove down to port Canaveral from MD (stopping overnight in St Augustine), took the all-too-short cruise and then drove all the way back home. We were exhausted and likely won't take another 3 day cruise or drive to port Canaveral to get on a ship. But it was still a nice trip...no work...a break from the kids and all their activities...etc. And we have since found that we really like the Fantasy class ships.

By the way: LOVED the sunset pics!!!

That is my favorite part about reading reviews! The ship wasn't that bad, just not the best yet! I would take it again, just because it is a quick trip! I love St. Augustine- did you get to enjoy the area or just a pit stop for sleep?

And thank you about the pics-We (I say we, but really it is me) frame one of the sunset or sunrise pics from each cruise and we have them hanging in our room. Instead of a large piece of art or something above the headboard, it is a gallery of sunrise/sunsets. So you can imagine I was pretty bummed when I missed the first 5 opportunities! :p

We stopped in St Augustine...checked into our hotel and walked to a bar that had an outdoor bar area. Sat outside and had a couple drinks to wind down and then walked back to hotel to sleep. Would love to see more of St Augustine in the future. We hope to move to or get a condo in FL someday, maybe then we can hop back on the Sensation for a 3 day getaway. That's a great idea...what you do with the sunrise/set photos. I bet that looks nice.

LOL we probably where in the same room.... I think we only stayed for Ronnies show that night. But did see Will show also at a different time.... We had a nice time on that cruise.

On Sunday we where off the ship by I think 7:15. We didn't waist any time getting off and was home by 9:30am... Pretty good. We did the Park and Cruise, so getting off early is better for that. I don't know if we will do that again, but does same some money.

We probably were! We actually were so bored before the show we went in there about 45 minutes before the first show was scheduled to start. I asked the bartender if it would be ok if we just hung out. We got a great seat and the waiters were excited to get some business going I think!
