Diving in Roatan

My husband and I are doing a Discover Scuba dive in Roatan in December. We'll be diving at Mandy's Eel Garden with Bananarama. We watched some YouTube videos of Mandy's and were NOT impressed. We were hoping to see some bright, colorful fish, possibly some sea turtles. We didn't see any of this on the videos. What type of sea life should we expect to see? Anything bright and colorful? Is it worth it to even do this excursion? (I posted this question on the Scuba board as well, but this board gets more traffic, and I'd really like to know!) Thanks! :)

I know very little about the diving on the island, and I am not at all sure what Discover Scuba is.

Dhauk from the Trip Advisor Roatan board, often talks about Blue Channel, being one of his favorite dive sites, perhaps Bananarama would offer you a look at it. There may be some depth issues, where the discover people can't go as deep or some such.

What I can tell you is, while snorkeling off of West Bay Beach I have seen fishes of so many colors, shapes and sizes I can't even begin to count them all. I followed sea turtles for over an hour on two different occasions.

Hmm, as a added thought Dec is part of rainy season, the visibility may be much reduced from other dryer months of the year.
