Life boat drill?

What happens if you are not on the ship for the drill? If the ship leaves at midnight will they still do this late afternoon?

Whenever we have been on a ship that leaves the embarkation port late at night - the lifeboat drill was held in the morning on the first sea day or if your ship arrives the next day late -- like around noon at a port -- it will be held in the morning.

Our flight was late and the ship was held for about 30 cruisers. We all had a 'makeup' drill the next day.

I have seen makeup drills next day for late arrivals but also next day for late departures

I was really hoping to take the ferry over to Devonport and then check out a little of Auckland city and did not want to come back and go off again. Want to see enough but get back to ship for dinner so we can meet our table mates.

I have missed the drill - was at 4:00pm on our 8:30pm sailing, and I hadn't boarded the ship yet. I also missed the "make-up" drill. No one ever came after me to do it any other time.
