Signdy Posted October 20, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 20, 2011 Even if it's too cold to get in the water, are Malta's beaches a nice place to spend some time during a port stop in early November?
Sauer-kraut Posted October 20, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 20, 2011 There isn't much of a beach in Valletta, and you have to get around the harbour before you actually come to a swimming area. No sand, just rocks to sun yourself on. If you take a bus somewhere you will have better luck, check out the Malta boards on TripAdvisor.com and the Malta Tourist website to find out how to get there. *I seem to remember all the good beaches were on the northerly shore*
Paul&Kathy Posted October 21, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 21, 2011 As already said the beaches are some distance from Valetta. We have family in Gozo (the island off Malta) and I have swum there in November but it was cold and there were very few people on the beach let alone in the water. By that time of year the beach bars & cafes would be closed for the winter. Personally I would not advise a beach day in November. You will find plenty to do in the town and around the harbour, or take a bus or taxi to the old city of Mdina in the middle of the island and enjoy the views.
