pms4104 Posted November 30, 2011 #26 Share Posted November 30, 2011 Perhaps Park West onboard wouldn't be so bad if their presence weren't so intrusive. Crap and clutter all about for their events. If HAL wants them back onboard, perhaps they can find an under-utilized space, if there is one, and convert it into a shop, much like Mirabella. Little events, like champagne receptions and special sales, wouldn't impact the safety of everyone traversing the atrium during setup, the event, takedown. Everyone opposed to the return of the art auctions ought to express their displeasure on the comment cards.
m steve Posted November 30, 2011 Author #27 Share Posted November 30, 2011 and we put it on our comment cards. If people would not go to those fake auctions or just make loud rude comments like people do about smokers they might get the message.
hypercafe Posted November 30, 2011 #28 Share Posted November 30, 2011 I don't see why this is a big deal. During the trip places are full of tee shirt sales, gold by the inch, watch sales, etc trying to take your money. Bingo and the casino trying to take your money alone with the regular stores selling lots of stuff at very high prices. Then there is the spar which has very high priced peoducts and services. No one is obligated to buy or partake in any of it. It's all there so HAL can make money and HAL knows if it's on the level or not.
michigan tim Posted November 30, 2011 #29 Share Posted November 30, 2011 Many, many moons ago at a PW auction on RCL I "won" an "original" $600 print. It cost me $45 to have it shipped home (even though they are also based in MI). Upon receiving it I found the same print on ebay selling for... you guessed it, $45. VictoriaWTX Posted November 30, 2011 #30 Share Posted November 30, 2011 There were auctions on the Eurodam on our cruise last week. I am not sure who was running them, I didn't know enough about art auctions to ask that question. Luckily, the art remained in the gallery area and wasn't strewn about. We didn't buy anything, but our son "won" a print, and I am interested to see what it actually retails for once it arrives. Victoria

Victoria Did you receive any printed material in your stateroom indicating that it may have been Park West?
