What Happened to the Golden today?

The Golden was in Hilo as scheduled Monday and Honolulu Tuesday, but has returned to Hilo today rather than going on to Kauai. Weather.com is showing an alert for 12-18 foot waves hitting Kauai from noon onwards through Thursday so may be that accounts for the change

The entrance to Nawiliwili harbor is narrow so the rough seas is probably the reason for not going to Kauai. We missed it once just due to windy conditions & since it was a last minute decision to cancel, the day was spent at sea going back & forth along the more sheltered southern coast.

The Hawaiian cruises often change the itinerary for some sailings. I don't remember that being the case for our December 2010 sailing, but it was for the cruise we took five years previously. Then we went in a different order of the Hawaiian ports than the previous sailing.
