Ruth Cruise Posted December 30, 2011 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2011 We will arrive early in Sydney and would like to store our luggage at the port before visiting the opera house. Can someone tell me how early you can check-in your luggage at Sydney Harbour / Circular Quay? Thank you and greetings Ruth Cruise
paul929207 Posted December 30, 2011 #2 Share Posted December 30, 2011 At Darling Harbor it was 10am. At Circular Quay, there was a long line at 11am of people who had already dropped off their bags and were waiting to check in. So I would guess baggage dropoff started 10am or so. My info above is from Princess cruises I took in September and October.
Ruth Cruise Posted January 1, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted January 1, 2012 Dear Paul, thank you very much for your valuable information! This will allow for enough time to walk to the Opera House and take some pictures of the ship and the harbour bridge. Have a Happy New Year! kuldalai Posted January 1, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 1, 2012 Check the Sydney Port Authority Cruise ship schedule as to where your ship departs from : http://www.sydneyports.com.au/port_operations/cruise_schedule 1. The Overseas Passenger Terminal is at Circular Quay . 2. Wharf 5 Hickson Rd is at Darling Harbour, still in the City but upstream of the Harbour bridge . paul929207 Posted January 1, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 1, 2012 Ruth, Yes, it is an easy walk to the Opera House from the cruise terminal at the Circular Quay. If fact that is what we did that morning. We were on a b2b, so we got off and walk around the area and took some pictures. Remember if you haven't boarded yet, you will have your carryons with you. Iluvcruising2 Posted January 8, 2012 #6 Share Posted January 8, 2012 Thanks for this. Looks like Royal Caribbean cruise ships use the overseas passenger terminal.

The walk is dead flat, unless of course you wish to see inside the Opera House (tours here) or climb the steps for a photo opportunity!
