Anytime Dining question

It can really very from trip to trip and itinerary to itinerary. It just depends on when those cruisers like to eat. 6-7:30 is the most common, but I have also seen no lines at 6 and huge backups at 8...

Hi - This is our first cruise on Princess - we're cruising on the Grand in February and we're signed up for Anytime Dining (6 adults in our group). What are the busiest times so we can maybe try to avoid them? Thanks!

Your issue may be the size of the group (6). You will require an entire table. When I was on the Grand they accepted reservations for ATD, but only for specific times, like 6 & 6:15 and 8 & 8:15, not times like 7:30. Would suggest you decide what time you would like to dine and then make the reservation by calling the dining line in the morning, starting on day 2. No reservations accepted on boarding day. After a few days you will get the dining flow for the voyage, which varies from cruise to cruise depending on the passenger's preferences.

Much will depend on the length of time at the port too. If it's a busy and long day at the port, many rest up before getting ready for and heading to dinner. Or they might skip the MDR and go csual at the buffet those days. Sea day vs port day is a big deciding factor too. Age of cruisers...many older cruisers eat earlier. Amount of families onboard. You get it....it can vary greatly from ship to ship....itinerary to itinerary....date to date....

You're probably right about the 7:30 time. We normally travel when the crowd is on the older side and they like their dinner early.

Done this many times on two different cruises with Princess and had Anytime Dining status - they do not advertise it much - you might have to talk with head dining hall person.

Twice as group we liked the waiter and his assistant and would reserve them every night - same group -same table - approx same time - we all had Anytime dining status

Best time is early if trying to get around crowds - call ahead and inquire - they will direct you in right direction

hope this helps

Yes my wife wrote about the deck chair - towel reserving aboard ship - got chewed out about it - because of tension over it - we are moving our cruise back a month and maybe cancelling our second cruise for the year - wish us luch

regards
