We are going to be at Atlantis the 1st week of December with our 3&4 yr olds. Anyone know what the water temps will be like then?? We are from south Alabama and don't take too well to the cold:) I've been to Atlantis in June but am a little worried about taking kids there in December

Water Temps in the winter months are around 70 degrees. Not exactly swimming temps, but you find it doesn't bother some people. Early Dec is better than the latter part.. but can still be chilly.

Atlantis has 2 or 3 heated pools, but honestly, I didn't find them very comfortable as far as taking the chill off. And I don't think they turn them on until January.

With little ones, I'm not sure that this temp would be good for them.

Hi All,

My wife, 15-month-old and I are headed to Atlantis from Carnival Splendor on SEP 19. Ship's in port from 7 am to 4 pm, but Atlantis Aquaventure w/ lunch excursion through the ship begins at 8:30 and can depart as late as 2:30. Reading alarming reviews that it takes HOURS from the time you board your bus to the time you are able to enjoy the resort's pools and slides on your own. True? False? Would it be wise for my family of 3 to just taxi ourselves from port to Atlantis and hope that a Water Park Day Pass is available directly from Atlantis on SEP 19? $$$ not really a factor - much more concerned about time - obviously, I can't and won't coupe a 15-month-old up in lines / on buses for "hours" like some reviews posted. Experts?!

We booked one night at Atlantis Beach Tower on Expedia for $290. I emailed them to see if there were any other charges and if we could get our wristbands early (check in is 3 p.m. and we dock around 9 a.m.) and was told no to the charges and yes to the bands.

Just wondering why others do the Comfort Suites when atlantis is cheaper every time I check Expedia. Am I missing something?

Because when you sign up for the comfort suites rewards program the rooms can be $180-$223ish so always cheaper then Atlantis. When I booked comfort Atlantis was over $200 more a night.

Tried that and it was $25 more for Comfort. Oh well I guess it just depends when you go.

  • 4 weeks later...
How's the first week of oct? What's been the current price someone's paid for day passes.

I checked with purchasing day passes with Majestic for the first week of October and the price was going to be $125 for adult and $80 for child. We will be on the Oasis and I was on RC website last week and noticed that they lowered their price to $99 for adult and $59 for child.

Oasis is only in port a few hours.. that's why its' discounted.

So basically still not worth it. I can book a room for $223. And I'll be there till 12.

We will be in Nassau on 12/2 (Sun) with Oasis during 7am-2pm. Given the vast information provided in this thread, we are deciding against the waterpark and beach tours/passes (short time in port, cooler water temp, limited beach access if not a hotel guest). Oh, we are also going through an aquarium burn-out. So if we just taxi over or ferry over to Atlantis, what can we see or experience both inside and outside on the resort grounds? Appreciate any insights.

Not a whole lot without paying for a pass. Non-guests are allowed to use the casino and the few shops in the old tower. Otherwise, security will not let you into the lobby and certainly not on the resort grounds.

There is NO experience inside or outside beyond this.

The marina village (shops and casual dining, pizza, ice cream) is adjacent to the hotel, and open to the public.

sure.. but I can no longer tell you what it is.

I'm sure you can find it. or PM me on the sister site at trip advisor. I don't think that's against the rules.. but I may be mistaken.

Hi scubagirl..I know you can't reccomend but any great ideas on what eh and I shouldn't miss in Nassau? Not interested in Atlantis that much..more the people, culture, history and maybe great shopping deals O:-)?

I'm still wondering about this - really want to do it but the cost is really high.....can anyone tell me if Atlantis will be busy on 23rd December when we are docked?

Just book a room at comfort suites. Especially if your planning to spend $125 pp for day passes anyways.

How can this work out if you are docking at noon? Any suggestions? I considered reserving a room at Comfort Suites but you can't check in before 3 and you have to check out before 11...so either day I book I'm logistically screwed.

I've booked rooms at the comfort before and they are use to people showing up from the ships. When I showed up at 930am my room was ready.

Others have post about this. The way it works is, your room will be ready at 3pm but they will give you the passes early in the morning. You just have to ask for them at the front desk. You just can't use the room yet.

Also, read the fine prints. Apparently there are some surcharges and extra cost on this hotels. Sometimes is still worth it but sometimes it isn't.

I didn't assume I was the first person to ask but couldn't find that information when I looked for it. Thanks for the info!

Christmas week? I'm guessing it will be packed, and even the rates at comfort suites will be sky high.

Xmas week is the highest capacity week for the whole year.

Last year they blacked out this week and did not sell same day passes due to the crowds.

I believe both Atlantis and Comfort Suites require a 2 or 3 day minimum.

Getting passes thru the cruise ship would likely be your bet bet.

I just saw that the price has dropped to $99 for our cruise the last week of October as well. The only issue that I'm trying to get clarified by RC is the length of time for the excursion. It says we start at 9am, but the excursion time can vary from 5-7 hours. ? Since the waterpark is open until 7pm and we are in port until midnight, I'm hoping it's okay to just stay until we are ready to leave, then just take a cab back on our own.

I have stayed at the Atlantis before, but the friend I'm traveling with has not so she's very interested is checking out the waterpark. I love the lazy river! Although, I realize it's going to be busy while we're there, I still think it's worth a visit, esp. for $99 for a full day.
