Just checked the price for our Med. cruise on Solstice June 16. For our cabin class 2B Veranda was reduced again. A small amount this time but considering all the previous price reductions and WAVE promos -- every little bit helps and is appreciated. Makes it fun to watch this pricing every week or so. It's just like a game.

We upgraded to a balcony Tuesday. That is the day our travel agency posts cruise prices.

You are aware you have to notify Celebrity that you saw the price drop, right? Can't just watch it.

 

I actually enjoy checking the price daily-- there can be resident or senior discounts that are only available for a short time, so if you only check every week or so, you could miss out. So far, it's gone up, come back down to where it was, and gone up again. So it goes.

Ours went down $350pp, and we're still 38 weeks out.

I second checking every day. We snagged an FV on Solstice that went down $800/pp--that special lasted about 2 days. . .and it was about 4 months before the cruise. If I had only checked once a week I could have missed it entirely.

Lucky you! I check daily, a few times, and have just found that the price for our July Med went UP!

How do you get the lower price if you have booked already?

My booking is direct with Celebrity, no TA involved.

Alaska Millennium July 13th has just dropped 200.00 for inside and ov and 500.00 for suites.

 

Balconies stayed the same.

 

In the usual scheme of things would this be viewed as a big drop or a small one?

 

Is it typical for some categories to change but not all?

It depends on your agency. We have used the same agency for 10 plus cruises so yes they go to bat for us.

Officially, if by some chance you paid in full but it's still before final payment is actually due, have your TA get a fare adjustment-- you'd get a refund. Things to note-- this won't apply if the price drop is for new bookings only, and some TA's charge for any kind of change.

 

If it's past the date when final payment was required, you can upgrade to a higher class cabin if the price is the same or lower, or you could upgrade to a higher class cabin that's more than what you paid (but still a lot lower than it was previously selling for) by paying the difference. Same restrictions as above apply.

 

Yes, a TA might be able to wangle a lower price for you if it's after final payment, but don't count on it.

Thanks so much for posting this! We are on the same cruise (and cabin category). This drop saved us a tiny bit more...for more gelato and cocktails on board :D
