firefly333 Posted February 18, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 18, 2012 I just buy a bottle in a port and then refill it for the next port to bring with me. Or we bring a empty bottle .. doesnt really take up much space, but Im cruising solo. For a family I can see this. btw the new platinum gift, the backpack has a place on the outside to put your water bottle to bring it with you. Nice gift to me. I saw lots using them getting off in the ports.

boogasmom2 Posted February 19, 2012 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2012 LOL! It was funny to come here and see this post, as I just registered for these boards today. I also purchased these bottles this morning on Groupon and was thinking about them for the, ummmmm, "other stuff"!
SATXLady Posted February 19, 2012 #6 Share Posted February 19, 2012 I picked up several in the Exhibit Hall at a conference two weeks ago. Apparently, they are one of the hot new "gimmes" foe exhibitors.
oregonian123 Posted February 19, 2012 #7 Share Posted February 19, 2012 Sold Out :( Hi, I have also seen them at AAA Travel Offices, but I don't remember the price.
jtwitch Posted February 19, 2012 #8 Share Posted February 19, 2012 We bought the Vapur bottles (very similar to these... maybe even the same thing with different branding on them) at Eddie Bauer. I bet we paid about $9/each. But we took them with us on port days. A little tricky to fill from the tap, but they don't take up any space in the suitcase, and are pretty easy to toss in the bag to carry along. We put them in the fridge over night, and had cold water for a while in the morning.
nurseingu Posted February 19, 2012 #9 Share Posted February 19, 2012 Go to amazon.com. They have all brands and varieties of collapsible watar bottles. Groupon is sold out. Karen

2013CruiseBride Posted February 19, 2012 #12 Share Posted February 19, 2012 Thanks for the tip!! I have been researching ways to bring "other stuff" on board. Hey, I figure it is my wedding/honeymoon cruise, I should be as tipsy as possible!! Well of course except when I recite my vows!

cdnhorse Posted February 19, 2012 #14 Share Posted February 19, 2012 I just bought one of these from our local dollar store. Once I got it home and gave it a wash, figured that it looked pretty good so plan to go back and get some more. Quite a bargain at a buck apiece! cruisinreunion Posted February 19, 2012 #15 Share Posted February 19, 2012 If anyone else has a Christmas Tree Shop near them, they are also $1 each...picked some up today for our upcoming, one color for each of the kids for water or lemonade and one for each of us for other stuff;) we tried them out already and they work pretty good, although I think I am going to put them in a ziploc bag incase they leak . swedish weave Posted February 19, 2012 #16 Share Posted February 19, 2012 If you are putting them in your luggage full of "stuff" I would suggest taking the metal clip off and put it in your carry-on. Might attract unwanted attention if left on the bag.
Katlan Posted February 19, 2012 #17 Share Posted February 19, 2012 If anyone else has a Christmas Tree Shop near them, they are also $1 each... . Thanks for the tip!!! Do you remember which section of the Tree you found these?

Apparently, they are one of the hot new "gimmes" foe exhibitors. I got one for free at a conference too. Hoping they work the same as rr's. Any reason why they wouldn't? cruisinreunion Posted February 19, 2012 #19 Share Posted February 19, 2012 Thanks for the tip!!! Do you remember which section of the Tree you found these? actually there was a huge display of them as you walked in the door..apparently a popular item! jerray07 Posted February 19, 2012 #20 Share Posted February 19, 2012 Looks a lot like the Platypus bottles. They are collapisble and very durable. Also, they hold up to a liter at a time :) I use mine at work and it's been through a lot. (Also, the plastic is meant to take rough conditions as they are made for backpacking. It's much more durable than RRs... but I wouldn't know that.)
nurseingu Posted February 19, 2012 #21 Share Posted February 19, 2012 ....the RRs are very thin. For them and never used. Afraid they may burst. I have a Christmas shop not too far away. May check them out. Cancelled order with Amazon. Still have a plenty of time before my cruise. Karen
Katlan Posted February 19, 2012 #22 Share Posted February 19, 2012 actually there was a huge display of them as you walked in the door..apparently a popular item! Hope you find some:) THANK YOU sooo much Cruisinreunion! I found them in the Albany Christmas Tree Shop and bought 2 of each color (10 total). There wasn't a display that I could find, so I looked in the kitchen area where the plastic storage bowls etc are stocked and lo & behold they were there on the bottom shelf. $1.00 Thank you very much! Only 4 more Sundays!!
Crazy4Koko Posted February 19, 2012 #23 Share Posted February 19, 2012 Five Below also carries these..have seen them several times in their 'sport' section, and always wonder if they would be worth the purchase, or if other methods are equally successful.
