Recent Dawn Cruisers ( post dry dock)

Hi All~

I was looking at the updated info on the Dawn and I noticed there does not seem to be anywhere that has a DJ and dance floor. Spinnaker is gone and the Star Bar only lists a piano. Is there anywhere besides the casino lounge that has a dance floor and dance music? Planning a vow renewal and want a DJ for reception part.

I think that would be the Spinnaker on deck 7. That's where it is on the Star, her sister ship. They show it on the Dawn deck plan, but don't mention it in the description. Maybe they just left it off by mistake? :confused:

Like the Star, Spinnakers has moved aft to deck seven. We were on the Dawn from Feb 5 to Feb 15. In Spinnaker, they had both DJ'ed dance music and a live band (Jump) playing dance music. Jump plays a wide variety of music from 60's to today with theme nights. They even had a Blues Brothers revue. Plenty of folks dancing.

 

Besides the Star bar, there will be music at Gatsbys (deck six midship) and in the atrium (Java Cafe).

Yes as someone else said, the Spinnaker is now down on Deck 7 aft and that is where you have good dance music, whether it is a DJ or live. Watch for anything from 6 to 9 PM. It might be called Ballroom Music, Dance Music, etc. Give it a try.

The New Seasons band might be playing there too. Although they do good Caribbean music, they are versatile and can play good ballroom dance music too.

The DJ Keith (when we were there), is very good and I am sure he would respond to any request you might have for music for your special celebration. Maybe he would find a special place to do it.

In the Atrium sometimes there is good dance music and don't be shy about dancing there too.

And lastly, on the pool deck, whenever there is music, why not dance when the spirit moves you ?
