Overnight sailings

Recommended Posts

You should expect to board, go to your cabin, enjoy dinner and an evening aboard with all the usual entertainments and be ready to leave early the next morning when you arrive.

Have a GREAT time. :)

A few years ago we were on the Westerdam -- passengers got on in Vancouver and off in Seattle.

Once the majority of passengers got off the ship to either go home or go on a tour, then the new passengers like yourself were able to get on the ship.

At the time we were there Canada Place was a zoo -- there was construction going on -- 3 ships in -- people did not knnow where they were going.

Once on the ship you can go to your cabin to drop off your carry-on -- go have cocktails -- get something to eat. Do whatever you want to do.

Of course you will have dinner -- the music will be in the lounges -- people dancing.

In the morning you will have breakfast -- usually 1 day cruise passengers are the first off the ship as you will have only your carry-ons.

Enjoy your cruise.

As Sail said, you can have a nice, fun evening of dinner and entertainment, but be prepared to have to disembark by 9'ish the next morning. I would also suggest that you board as early as you can, to make the most of your time.

We took 1 one-nighter, and wouldn't do it again. Just not enough time on the ship. But if you're using it as a transportation alternative, and to have a nice time while doing so, it could be a lot of fun.

Thanks for all the info everyone.

Dinner is open seating but nothing is mentioned about the dress code. I assume it will be casual within reason of course.

We are on a 4 day sailing up to Vancouver from San Diego then a 4 days in Victoria and Vancouver before heading over to Seattle for a few then flying back home.

Thought the overnight would be a really fun way to do the transfer but wondered if they bother with entertainment etc.

We plan to board as soon as we can since we have to check out of hotel by 10. Sorry to hear we will need to be off by 9 but I understand they will need to get ready for those boarding for Alaska.
