hallasm Posted March 27, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2012 During you visit at St. Thomas - here are ideas for a day trip. Seaborn Seaplane ride to St. Croix; Visit to Christiansted (by boat or plane); Visit to St. John (by boat) ; A walking tour in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas;
blue_water Posted March 27, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2012 The Seaborne flight is ideal for a full day excursion while staying on STT but does not work well for cruisers. There is enough to see on STT during a short cruise day. For someone who has been to STT numerous times the flights may work but it would be a short day on STX. The St. John / Trunk Bay excursion is a very popular one offered by the cruise lines, gorgeous beach but can get very crowded. I would recommend Cinnamon Bay or another beach for a less busy vibe. But even a ferry to Cruz Bay affords great shopping and a nice lunch followed by drinks at the Beach Bar. That can be a great day away from the hordes who are on STT or at Trunk Bay. The Red Hook ferry to Cruz is usually very full early, but Cruz isn't that busy by the time the people have taxied to the beaches. And yes we still love walking along the back alleys in CA and seeing the oldness of the bldgs. Even better with only one ship in port.
Ms411 Posted March 27, 2012 #3 Share Posted March 27, 2012 Um, you can't get to STX from STT by boat unless you private charter or have your own boat.
