Rare styles27 Posted April 2, 2012 #26 Share Posted April 2, 2012 For unfinished bottles in the MDR, do they pump the air out before sealing? (talking about the bottles we purchase and want stored for the next evening)

sail7seas Posted April 2, 2012 #28 Share Posted April 2, 2012 To avoid wasting wine DH always immediately tells the wine steward that he wishes to pour our wine himself. We drink exactly the amount each night that we actualy want and there is never any conflict with the server. On my goodness, We certainly would not have conflict with the wine steward over a few sips of wine. I should just pay attention and tell him/her when I've had all I want for the evening. They aren't mind readers. :D It's up to me to let them know I'm finished. IMO
woodworker&knitter Posted April 3, 2012 #29 Share Posted April 3, 2012 Curious :) Which is your wine HAL no longer offers? They don't carry Barolo or Brunello any more, plus what HAL charged I can buy it at Total Wine, pay corkage and still save a few $$. This is my treat while cruising. sail7seas Posted April 3, 2012 #30 Share Posted April 3, 2012 Thanks for sharing..... I'm always interested in hearing of wines other people enjoy. We're usually willing to try a number of new ones. Enjoy your wine. :)
woodworker&knitter Posted April 3, 2012 #31 Share Posted April 3, 2012 Have you tried Northstar. Merlot it's from Walla Walla Washington . It's on all the HAL wine lists?
sail7seas Posted April 3, 2012 #32 Share Posted April 3, 2012 Yes, I think that sounds familiar. We cannot get it here in MA but I think we had it on a ship. We are not permitted to order wines shipped from other states to be delivered in MA. We can't join the wine clubs because of that.
