Barcelona to Mallorca

We plan to be in Barcelona for 3 or 4 days post cruise. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with taking a day trip to Mallorca from Barcelona. Did you fly or take the ferry? Is it worth the time and expense for only a few hours/1 day?

Mallorca is not somewhere to take a day trip from Barcelona.

 

It would not be possible by ferry as this takes between 6-8 hours. You could fly which would take less than an hour but if you take into account transfer times to and from the airports and check-in times pre-flight it would not be worth it.

 

My advice is to stay in Barcelona. There is so much to see and do there you can easily spend 3-4 days seeing it all.

English in Spain is spot on, apart from which the Islands justify a visit of at least a few days each!
