What's the Caribbean like in the summer (weather-wise)

Recommended Posts

Thinking ahead to next summer (2006) and am considering either Carnival or the new Crown Princess from NYC to the Caribbean. I was told it's the rainy season in the summer in the Caribbean...any truth to that statement?

According to my AAA Caribbean guide book, temp averages and rainfall averages (in inches) for July are:

Nassau, Bahamas 82/5.8

St. Martin 83/3.2

St. Thomas 82/3.2

August has higher rainfall averages on most islands. The average temps all summer are mostly 80 something.

When I was married I ALWAYS traveled in the summer....during hurricane season. Those were back in the days when I took "land" vacations. I have cruised at the end of July as well.

It's HOT! But that would never stop me! It was pretty darn hot in Jamaica 2 weeks ago!
