Heraklion/Knossos?

Can anyone who has done an Eastern Mediterranean recently that has stopped in Chania Crete help me? On the Celebrity website shore excursion listings it has Heraklion/Knossos as one of the options. Now I realize that Knossos would be a 2.5 hour bus ride from Chania and iraklion on the other end of the island is the port to arrive at for a visit there. Celebrity has the tour and the price for Chania on the website but looks like it's unbookable. Has anyone found that it is indeed an option from Chania?

We were in Chania on our recent cruise. We were in port from 8 - 4. Celebrity did not offer a Knosis tour. We looked into doing this on our own, but realized we would not have much time at the site, and didn't want to risk missing the ship.

 

So, if you are in Chania for more than 8 hours (the tour is listed as 8 1/4 hours) it can be done.

 

Keep in mind, with 5 hours of time on the bus and an hour of free time in Iraklion and probably another hour of getting everyone on and off the bus, you are only going to have about an hour at Knosis.
