Sparkygirl Posted June 14, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2012 I am reading through threads regarding bar set up, etc for Owner's Suites that can be pre-ordered. What about non-alcoholic beer or sparkling cider rather than champagne? DH has 6 years sober and I would love to surprise him with his favorite non-alcoholic drinks. bakerintn Posted June 14, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 14, 2012 Not on the list, but call and ask...you could probably get a bucket of NA beer.
Novastar Posted June 15, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 15, 2012 My 2 previous NCL cruises had Buckler NA beer available. They also had 2 kinds of alcohol free wine. You should have no problem getting that for the OS. Have a great cruise! And, many congratulations to your DH!

DMRick Posted June 15, 2012 #5 Share Posted June 15, 2012 Just curious, because I know AA recommends recovering people stay away from NA beer..doesn't it all contain a small amount of alcohol? I thought by law they could say it's NA, and advertise it as such, as long as it doesn't contain above a certain amount of alcohol.

NA beer does contain a small amount of alcohol and can trigger relapses in recovering alcoholics. It is not recommended. (Not trying to lecture anyone by the way). Novastar Posted June 15, 2012 #8 Share Posted June 15, 2012 Point taken but not everyone who drinks NA beer is a recovering alcoholic. It's always good to have options.
DMRick Posted June 15, 2012 #9 Share Posted June 15, 2012 Of course they aren't. I was responding because of the original post. Point taken but not everyone who drinks NA beer is a recovering alcoholic. It's always good to have options.
Sparkygirl Posted June 17, 2012 Author #10 Share Posted June 17, 2012 Yes, they can become a problem in fact DH was afraid to drink them until about a year or so ago. He has one or two on special occasions only.
