CecilCtyCruiser Posted August 9, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2012 Husband and I booked a last minute cruise out of Miami. We usually like to arrive the day before, but not possible in this case so for the first time we booked our air through Royal Caribbean, so if there are delays we know they will work with us to make sure we get to the ship. If we arrive on time, we arrive in Ft Lauderdale at 10:47 a.m. We are trying to decide if we should spend the extra money and book transfers to the port through Royal Caribbean ($60 pp each way), or book a local shuttle company ($13-$14 pp). The question is, what happens if our flight arrives late, but our transfer to the port is not booked through Royal Caribbean? Does this have any bearing on the guarantees we get by booking our air with them? Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks in advance for your reply. Puffinater Posted August 9, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 9, 2012 The ships transfers are over priced. With your arrival time I would say go with a shuttle or cab.

I think so too, just didn't want to run into any problems if we were delayed for any length of time. Thanks.

Thanks. I've seen numerous reviews for them, all good, and if we decide to book an independent shuttle, this is who I planned to use.

Leslie K Posted August 11, 2012 #7 Share Posted August 11, 2012 after my first experience with RCCL arranged air and transfer we no longer use them. It was chaotic and poorly organized. Usually we flew in the day ahead and took cabs or a shuttle offered by the motel. Coming home we got cabs or shuttles at the port without any problem and spent less than the transfers. Now it isn't an issue as we tend to travel from local ports and simply drive there.
