Galveston booze rules & sail away

I've read in a couple of threads that you can't have Bon Voyage alcohol delivered on Carnival before the ship leaves port due to some sort of Texas law concerning alcohol? If this is true, any suggestions on how we can have a bottle of champagne on our balcony for sail away - without bringing it ourselves as one of our allowed bottles of wine?

I don't know about Carnival, but we have had wine in our cabin upon arrival on the ship.

Did you order it via the ship before the cruise or was it wine you brought on board yourself? Sorry if that's what you meant - I just want to be sure :D

We brought our own wine on. You can bring your own champagne

Not sure but I think it has more to do with Proof of spirit, so I think wines should be OK.

Actually, it is alcohol in general. They will not deliver beer from Bon Voyage until you are in International waters.:(

They wont deliver alcohol to you until you are in international water. I usually get mine after dinner. Maybe order a bottle of wine or get a wine package onboard, then bring your champagne on with you. You might be able to buy a bottle onboard before sail away, but the alcohol selection in port is very limited.
