sail7seas Posted September 10, 2012 #26 Share Posted September 10, 2012 Each ship is a bit different, but on the Eurodam the SCs are all aft wraps and are on either decks 4, 5 or 6 (so 6 SCs only). The SB wraps are on decks 7 and 8, but most of the SBs are on deck 6 (12 of the 16 SBs). Therefore, if we were upgraded from an SC to an SB, we likely would end up in a mid-ship deck 6 location, one deck below the Neptune. Plus these 12 cabins are a bit of a walk to the elevators/stairs (to reach the Neptune). IMO, I think the SCs are a better deal than the SBs, since while both are a distance from the Neptune, the SCs have the aft wrap advantage. Now, if I could be assured of an SA, that would be another story.... DaveOKC Yah, I agree. If I could be assured of an upgrade to an SA, I'd book the lesser and take the free upgrade. But seeing we can't be assured, we have to book it if we want it. I'd love a free upgrade to SA........ wouldn't most of us? :D DH and I did think about booking lesser category a few times and hoping for an upgrade but in the end went ahead and booked our usual cabin. We don't think we'd be happy in the SC so don't take the chance.
DaveOKC Posted September 10, 2012 Author #27 Share Posted September 10, 2012 S7S - Since the SA is now $900 per person higher than the SC (for a 7 day cruise), I will stick to the SC. Besides, I have always wanted to try the aft wraps, at least once. Thanks to everyone for their input. DaveOKC
CruiseGal60 Posted September 11, 2012 #28 Share Posted September 11, 2012 Just my opinion, but we loved the corner aft on the Eurodam so much we booked the same on our upcoming cruise on the Nieuw Amsterdam. Ture, it is further from the Neptune but we really enjoyed the balcony. We both thought the cabin had more than enough room for two.
