Christmas Eve - what to do?

Our ship will be in port from 8am to 5pm. Will anything be open? Is there a self directed walking tour we can take? Are there sightseeing tours you can recommend? I don't want to book something and then find out we are just driving by closed sites. Not really interested in sitting on a beach this stop. Thanks in advance for your help.
