Booking the next RCCL cruise while on board.

Does RCCL offer really good deals if you book the next cruise while on board? What incentives do they offer?

It depends. Somewhere on here there are a ton of posts on this!

 

Like all sales people, the cruise people are no different and they want to strike while the iron is hot. If you're having a great time and don't want to go home it's easy to be persuaded to put your deposit down on another cruise. Most of the time they will offer you an on board credit as incentive. Many people see this as a great value and jump for the chance.

 

But is it really a great value?

 

Maybe.

 

Maybe not.

 

Most cruise lines offer early bird booking specials. So if you know what you want and book very early you can take advantage of the early bird price plus an incredible cabin selection.

 

This can be had with the on board credit if you time it correctly in booking while on board.

 

But what I've seen happen time and time again, many people will WAIT to book their next cruise UNTIL they're on a cruise to get the onboard credit. They then run the risk of increased fare and diminished cabin selection, especially if it's a popular cruise.

 

On top of that if you work with a ta who belongs to a consortium who blocks groups, again, if timing is right, you need to check to see what the group perks are. It might be discounted rate, it might be on board credit, it might be a bottle of wine.

 

Research and timing. Being educated is your best tool to obtain the best price.

The cruise fare itself isn't lower. They offer onboard credits for that next cruise. The amount depends on the length of the cruise. (it's $100 for a 7 day)
