cruiser101101 Posted October 20, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 20, 2012 We are South African and it is very expensive to cruise on QM2 because A: We have to pay in Pounds and B: We have more flying costs. Any tips on how to reduce our voyage fare? Thanks :)

Thanks :) Travel off peak (eg late Autumn/Winter) crossings Book relatively late - within a couple of months of sailing - but you need to balance this against airfares which tend to rise the nearer you get to departure date- but again travelling off peak helps. Book a Guarantee cabin vs a specific one - that way you at least get what you've booked, but possibly get a higher grade. For example, the Nov 20 westbound crossing has Balcony fares for £469 on the Cunard website - and a bit of shopping around might get you an even better deal. wripro Posted October 20, 2012 #3 Share Posted October 20, 2012 Sometimes on the world cruise there is a segment that begins or ends in Cape Town. Maybe you could find one of those and save some flying costs.
