Upsell fairy called for Breeze 11/24 sailing!

Just had a call from the upsell fairy (he prefers the term "Upsell Giant"!) for the Breeze sailing on 11/24. I was laboring under the impression that the cruise was sold out... Anyway, I took the upgrade from Deluxe Oceanview to Cove Balcony for $400 total. So we ended up paying a total of $2537 for the cabin for 3. Good deal? I think so!

I wonder why they call some people and just send e-mails to others .. I'm doing B2B cruises in Dec and received e-mails on both to upgrade... loving my new rooms ..

I would love to know how they choose who to offer the upgrades/upsells to? Why do some cruisers get called often and others have been cruising for years and have never been called/emailed.

This is the first time I have been contacted, and it is my 10th sailing. I booked with this same PVP for a cruise I took in May, but was never contacted re: an upsell and that cruise was nowhere near full. So I have no idea how they decide who to contact.

The only upsell calls I have received have been when we were already booked in suites, getting offers for the penthouse suite. It was WAY out of our price range! You got a great deal on your! Have fun!
